		<description>About —&#38;nbsp;

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Anders Rhedin works with ambient sound, field recordings and spatial listening. His practice moves between performance, installation and long-form composition, often presented as sound baths — immersive environments where the audience listens lying down, eyes closed.

Rhedin has released five ambient and meditation albums on Captured Tracks and his work has been commissioned or presented by institutions such as ARoS, ARKEN and Thorvaldsens Museum, as well as by Google’s gPause program, Lincoln and festivals in Europe. He has performed in settings ranging from volcanic landscapes and Arctic villages to rooftops in Manhattan

Before developing his ambient practice, Rhedin was a member of, and produced for, the acclaimed Danish band Choir of Young Believers, and later released four albums under the solo moniker Dinner on Captured Tracks, touring internationally with artists such as Mac DeMarco, King Gizzard &#38;amp; The Lizard Wizard and Sean Nicholas Savage.

He now lives north of Copenhagen, working on new pieces based on field recordings from Zealand

		<description>1. Thorvaldsen’s Museum
2019-2026Project: Series of sound baths, 50+ performances &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; An ongoing series of sound bath performances developed for Thorvaldsens Museum, engaging in a sustained dialogue with the architectural space, the sculptures and the surrounding works on paper.

The performances invite a slowed, embodied mode of listening, where sound, acoustics and visual presence intersect. Sound waves, artworks and shifting perceptual states move in and out of focus, allowing the museum space itself to be experienced as a resonant field rather than a backdrop.

		<description>2. ARKEN Museum of Modern Art2022Project: Sound bath, ARKEN
A sound bath performance developed for the finissage of the Else Alfelt exhibition at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art.

The work was structured around a slow, trance-like mode of listening, unfolding in dialogue with the exhibition space and Alfelt’s paintings. Both gong and live electronic improvisation were informed by the tonal and spatial qualities of Alfelt’s Katedralbillede, allowing sound, image and architectural presence to resonate as a single perceptual field.

2024
Album,&#38;nbsp;Highland Park Sleep Collective

Zealand Variations was developed during a four-week residency in a remote cabin in northern Zealand, Denmark, situated between an old plantation forest and the sea.

The album draws on early-morning routines and extended periods of listening, combining field recordings from the surrounding landscape with slow electronic composition. Rather than documenting specific sounds, the work is shaped by atmosphere, pacing and the subtle sensory qualities of the site — forest, water and changing light.

Synthesizers and electronics unfold in conversation with the field recordings, allowing environmental presence and musical structure to merge into a continuous, sleep-oriented listening environment.&#38;nbsp;

		<description>3. Google / gPause2022, 2023-Project: Bespoke sound bath for Google
Two sound bath sessions developed in collaboration with Google’s internal gPause program.

The sessions were conceived as slow, guided listening experiences, combining sound bath performance with reflective writing. Presented as live-streamed events, the work addressed states of heightened mental load and uncertainty through sustained sound, pacing and attention, allowing participants to engage in a quieter, inward mode of perception.

2019
Album,&#38;nbsp;Captured Tracks

Kyoto Window is Rhedin’s first ambient album, released on Captured Tracks with an accompanying limited cassette edition.

The work unfolds as a series of slow, restrained compositions shaped by atmosphere, memory and imagined geography. Although not based on direct travel, the title refers to Kyoto as an inner landscape — a place approached through resonance rather than documentation.

Shortly after completing the album, Rhedin encountered Japanese ambient music from the 1980s, including Hiroshi Yoshimura’s Wet Land. The affinity was immediate, situating Kyoto Window within a broader lineage of environmental and contemplative sound practices that privilege tone, duration and quiet presence over narrative.&#38;nbsp;

2019
Album,&#38;nbsp;Captured Tracks

A guided ambient meditation developed as a long-form listening work.

The composition privileges calm narration, pacing and sustained tonal atmosphere, unfolding as a continuous inward listening space rather than a track-based progression. The work draws on the slower, durational sensibilities of 1990s and 2000s guided ambient traditions, recombined into a singular, sleep-aware sonic environment.

Rhedin’s third ambient album, developed largely in collaboration with composer and producer Nicolai Koch.

The album brings together ambient compositions that move between shorter pieces and one extended, long-form track. The work reflects a shared compositional approach where tone, pacing and spatial sensibility are the primary organising principles.
