2. Zealand Variations

2024
Album, Highland Park Sleep Collective
Zealand Variations was developed during a four-week residency in a remote cabin in northern Zealand, Denmark, situated between an old plantation forest and the sea.
The album draws on early-morning routines and extended periods of listening, combining field recordings from the surrounding landscape with slow electronic composition. Rather than documenting specific sounds, the work is shaped by atmosphere, pacing and the subtle sensory qualities of the site — forest, water and changing light.
Synthesizers and electronics unfold in conversation with the field recordings, allowing environmental presence and musical structure to merge into a continuous, sleep-oriented listening environment.
